My DACA expired early December. I did the biometrics november 28. Yes I know it was my fault, lets move on. The most recent update on my case was a name change this month because my name had been misspelled on my renewal papers. Since December I have honestly not had any problems without DACA. Sounds really dumb I know. I have flown back and forth from where I live to California with my Mexican passport and even recently started a new (better) job with my expired DACA. I was scared of driving without my licence, scared of flying home to visit family , scared of looking for a new job in the beginning. I guess my point is to not dwell on the fact that your DACA expired. If you're out applying to jobs do your best on the interview and if they call you explain the situation. If they really wana hire you they will work something out. Trust me It's not the end of the world. Push forward.

Thank god you found a better job. Good things happen to those with a positive mindset.

I don't see what they expect us to do. I'm so angry with these delays even though most of us have sent our applications in a timely manner.

Well sorry to tell you but you legally cannot work as you don't have a current EAD. I am only saying hopefully later on life, you working with an expired EAD does not affect you. You have never googled stuff like "working with an expired EAD" ?

He is not being bitter. Rather it seems you follow him around from thread to thread to comment on his posts.

When my EAD expired I continued working for about a month until it got renewed. I called USCIS at least 6 times and spoke to 6 different people and ALL of them told me that I was not breaking the law by continuing to work WHILE my application for renewal was still pending. I'd say half the people i spoke to were not sure, would put me on hold to speak to "higher ups" or supervisors and they would come up with the same answer. That it was NOT illegal for me to continue working while my renewal was pending, I even asked them about a temporary extension (because i read about it on the uscis website) and they told me i did not need one under DACA.
They did tell me that my employer could fire me if they wanted to because of the status but not that it was illegal for me to keep working.
I understand people say it's illegal to work with an expired EAD because....well it's expired but I won't dismiss what multiple USCIS people told me either. I can see if an EAD is expired and you got denied a renewal then for sure it would be illegal but that's not the case here.
