I recently applied and submitted my dream act application because at the time I was an elegible AB 540 student. A week ago I received my permanent U.S. residency along with my alien number so I do not think I will still qualify for the Dream Act and will be able to fle the FAFSA instead. With this in mind, is there any way in which I can delete my dream act application to speed up my FAFSA process? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you for your time

First of all, there is no dream act at the moment. You mean Deferred Action. I would just call USCIS and let them know that you need to cancel it because you received your green card

You guys are talking about two different things. California Dream Act is for college aid. Deferred Action is well, deferred Action. I would go to the finial aid office at your school and just ask them how you can remind your Caifornia Dream Act application. Also ask them for info on what kind of aid you can now qualify for since becoming a PR. Congrats BTW on your PR, that is the dream of all those on this forum with the exception of Citizenship, of course.

You can't expect us to read your mind. If you mean California dream act, then said it. When this forum says "dream act", it means the federal dream act bill that hasn't passed Congress yet. Keep in mind we don't all live in California.

All you need to do is go to your school's financial office to let them know and then apply for FAFSA. My wife has the same issue because she received her green card in March last year.
