This is my first time filing to tax. Could someone please help me on the following question?

1. Earned Income Credit: are we qualified for this credit? There are some lists to qualify and one of them is YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN OR RESIDENT ALIEN FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR.

Are we a resident alien for Tax purpose? Did Anyone claim this credit?

2. Health Insurance:

I did not have health insurance at any point during 2014

Can DACA get waived because WE ARE NOT REQUIRED TO GET INSURANCE due to RESIDENT OF FOREIGN COUNTRY?

This is a confusing! If I'm correct we are qualified for EIC because we are resident alien due to substantial presence test but under the Heath Care it seems that we are waived because DACA does not count as legal U.S. Resident.

Could someone please point me to the right direction? Did Anyone claim the EIC and waived the Health Insurance because we are not required to get the insurance because we are not a U.S. legal resident.

Thank you in advance!

I did not claim EIC because I didn't qualify based on income. However, DACA recipients do not qualify for ACA/Obamacare therefore, we qualify for an exception. Others can chime in.

Yes, for tax purposes we're considered resident aliens and can claim eic and yes we're exempt from obamacare
