So my work permit expires 3/3/2015, on 1/5/2015 i sent in my request for a renewal and my case was accepted and sent to Nebraska. My appointment r for my biometrics was on 2/2/2015, everything went well. Two times a week i check my case status online and after a month of no updates today (3/2/2015) my status has changed to "Your Case Has Been Approved". Which is fantastic! But I requested a leave from work until this was all sorted out, and since my permit expires tomorrow and i was approved today, can I continue working? Or should i wait until my new card has come in the mail?

So, I just checked the USCIS case status.

It seems the I-821D got approved on 2/25/15 (didn't receive an email/text)
But the I-765 status has not changed.

Lucky! i sent mine nov. 28 and did bios 12/30 , expire 3/5 and i'm still waiting. But they probably want to approve people who are expired or are about to first.

About your work, I think it depends on your employer. Some places will accept a copy of your "case has been approved letter" and let you keep working while you wait. Others might want to wait until you receive your new work permit just to be safe. I don't think it's a big deal to continue working if you're pending, much less if you've already been approved, but that's just me.

You and I have similar timeline, so you should be approved soon. I just randomly checked and saw it was approved but didn't receive any notice. The I-765 hasnt changed yet.

Hey does anyone know roughly how long it takes to get a new work authorization card after you are approved?
I was approved 2/26/15 from the Nebraska center

The 1st time I got it it took a about a week. I got approved same day as you and still waiting, hopefully is just 1 week as well

Good luck to you both I was so nervous too. I called on Monday to ask about my case. She put me on hold than I receive the text saying I was approve. So you can try and call too! Hope yall get it soon.
