hey guys I'm in the worst situation I can ever imagine. I moved to Houston 5 months ago with nothing, no family, no money saved. To start a new and better life. I started to work a minimum wage at Walmart and then later got an apartment, which I barely can afford but it was the cheapest one I found. I was barely making enough for rent and other expenses. I had no money left so I can save up to pay for my daca renewal which I knew was coming. Now my daca and ead has expired and I still haven't apply because of lack of money, I'm currently looking for a under the table job so I can continue to pay for rent. but I doubt it'll be enough to pay for the daca renewal. I want to know if you know of any grants or anything where they can give me money to pay for the renewal, and also I heard but I might be denied because I waited till my daca expired to renew again , is this true? I would be grateful if you can please help me with these questions.

Go ahead and apply. But you need to have money. There is really no assistance out there. Trying borrowing from a cash advance or church. There is no grant. Try borrowing from family or friends something you only have a year after your DACA Expires to reapply

Interesting link. Would this be a route for an individual to, let's say, start a business?

To get back to the OP. Hang in there, I think you're really brave moving out on your own! We all strive for that dream. I would also go with what the other poster has suggested, visit a local church! Or a charity community. Give us an update! You'll likely get a loan.

Possibly. Depending on your needs.

I was approved for 3-4k USD. But the interest I got was at 29 percent, then after a week or so after the deadline they dropped it to around 28 percent. Really depends if you need the money.

Life is tough sometimes, but at least you have the opportunity. Get a roommate, wash cars, etc. and do whatever it takes to get that money.
