I called twice yesterday. The second time I was able to put in a request to have my case expedited. Let's see what happens. My ead expired last Friday.

Got a callback from an officer, told them I was on a leave from work - I took a voluntary absence.

The officer said I would have to send a letter to the expedite team from my supervisor saying I was laid off because my permit expired. Has anyone who had been expedited gotten this request? If so, what does the letter need to say?

Posted the following info on the wrong thread, pls bear with me. As I am stressed.

------
I'm stuck in a conundrum here. My ead will expire next Wednesday, a week from now. 03/25/15.

No word yet in my renewal. I sent it 11/28/14. Received on 12/2/14. Biometrics appointment was 1/6/15.
Renewal is still pending. I've spoken to a uscis customer rep. Told me that no word yet and she just read me the same status screen, I could access. I haven't asked to speak to a level 2 representative. How do I go about that? Do I directly ask for one, as soon as a customer rep takes my call?

I've also emailed the uscis ombudsman. Explaining my case, that I'm about to be royally effed.
Based on personal experiences, do I notify my employer about the expiration of my ead? My lawyer said that I shouldn't and just go about my normal routine. But I want to show good faith and tell my employer. Maybe in that way they'll work with me. Instead of me, waiting for them to initiate the ead conversation. What do you guys think?

I'm doing my best, to be strong and all that. But so much is at stake.

I think, if your HR mentions it, show them the application letter. If that doesn't work, try to get a leave of absence.

I'm soon approaching expiration as well, but i'll be notifying my HR about 2 weeks before my EAD expires. I feel that the "good faith" effort may help me take a leave of absence or at best case they'll just allow me to continue working (unlikely), while I wait for those lazy morons at USCIS to approve me. I don't want to get kicked out after maybe HR is alerted by their internal notification system and they accuse me of trying to fly under the radar.

I got an offer letter today for a new job and explained to them my situation for the expired EAD and they didn't have any issues with it. They stated that if my references are okay, that I can start on Monday.

Today, I checked my case online for the expedited EAD and noticed the attached update without any updates on the actual case regarding any approvals/etc.

My application was received an in process 104 days prior to its expiration. Does that does that my request to expedite has been denied and if so, should I request for the i-827d to be expedited as well?
