I will be using advanced parole to travel to the Dominican republic I was brought here at the age of 7 EWI. For those whom have travel abroad any words of encouragement and what documents do I take.I will be there total of 5 days. So nervous

Hi Rose,

It's finally good to hear of someone with a very similar situation as mine if not the same type of situation.. I too was brought here as a minor at the age of 3 from the Dominican. I want to travel back to see my grandmother who suffers from severe osteoporosis. I have not yet traveled with AP. Reason being im afraid of certain grounds of inadmissability when I come back to the U.S. So far there have been many of people who have successfully traveled with AP and no issues. Things that you should take with you are
-DACA approval notice
-AP approval
-passport
-any information about your grandmother
-pictures
-hospital letters
-lawyers office card with phone/email.
Just everything and anything that deals with your case. Keep those documents locked and with you at all times. Do not give them to anyone. If an official needs to see them ask for them back. Remember, the issue is not leaving, it's when you're coming back. Make sure everything. Is in order when you arrive and plan ahead. Maybe even leave a day before your AP Expires to prevent airline delays or weather delays.

One question for you though.can you share your intial entry experience if you remember. What did you see, what was stamped, what documents did you use, what year was it?How exactly did you enter as EWI.?If you came from DR you must've passed through an immigration officer. This doesn't create an EWI. EWI is when you sneak across the border. Coming through an airport would create either a legal entry (proper visa, passport, etc) or a misrepresentation/fraud (fake visa, passport)or a claim to citizenship entry(using a U.S. passport or birth certificate). Please be careful with what you say and to who you say. I am also trying to find answers to my past and at the same time trying to find those who have had the same situation and experience coming to the states.

Apparently I entered as a fraudulent entry when I was 3 years old. I am in the process of trying to prove it was not a willful act because I was a minor and did not make that decision conciously.
Please refer to INA 212 for grounds of inadmissability.

Please keep me updated, be safe and good luck!!

I hope to hear your experience
