Hi guys,

I am in the process of narrowing down my dream list and beginning to make my dreams become actual reality. One of those was to retire early in life, and I already have, in a way. I work a part time job and living the simple life, and it's awesome.

My next thing on my to do list is to relocate to a different state with warm weather (but not Florida, it is too hot for me). Does anyone have any suggestions? I am thinking of returning to North Carolina, where I went off to college. I am open to hearing about anyone's experiences living in the southernly states, where its warmer and there is no winter.

I would suggest my home state of Virginia but we have winters here. Have you thought of the western states? Los Angeles? They have great weather year round, 60-80F, and they have a lot going on.

Southern states like Georgia are ok, typically you can continue your "retirement" as they have lower costs of living. But they're also the least immigrant friendly.

Hm, Georgia sounds like the perfect place but Los Angeles sounds good too. I do have an aunt there with whom I can live with while I try to settle down. Thanks for helping me brainstorm!

Despite the current Republican nuttiness, if you have work papers, Texas is not a bad place. And it's hotter than hell.

The weather here is wonderful, but the state loses its appeal pretty much with each legislative cycle (i.e. there is a new bill every year to take our DLs away).
