I recently got a job that requires me to travel all around the world, I have my DACA earlier this year and now need to apply for Advance Parole for work purposes. Can anyone share your experience with AP for work.

Did you have to specify dates and places of travel?
Did your employer provide a letter or was more proof needed?
Expedited request? and was it easily granted?

Thanks for your input!

How did you tell your employer that you needed to apply for a document for international travel? Did they turned sour?

I just told them that I needed a letter stating that I would be traveling for work purposes. They were totally cool and even asked me to write the letter myself and they would sign it. My boss even offered to help me get citizenship through my job but that might be more complicated.

Anyway, I got the letter and I just need to send it in and hope they approve it by my first trip to Canada.

Were you ever able to get the multiple travel AP doc?

Miami, check with Canada CIC / VAC if you need a visa for visiting canada. I filed twice for AP for work. First time it was expedited within two weeks but i couldnt travel. My mistake i only asked for small time frame and didnt account for delays in plan. I also only asked for single entry AP. Funds were not refunded (as with any app filed with USCIS). second time i requested multiple entry AP for greater time frame. This time i requested 6 months and that is what i was given. First time i only received 30 days.

Def get the letter from employer. Show proof of yoru employment with them. Show info about your needs to travel (meeting, vendors, clients, etc). you can request to expedite but it is a case by case decision. My first app was expedited and i received document withing 2 weeks. Second one they did not expedite (same app same reason) and i received doc within 4 weeks.

Make sure you check with Canada CIC to see if you need visa to travel there or not. Keep in mind that process (obtaining visa) can take up to 6 weeks. sure it can be expedited, but they require the AP from USCIS. Both must be coordinated together and filed well in advance of your travels.

Good luck and feel free to ask away.

You can always go to the office and file the paperwork there. I received it on the spot!

For your multiple entry AP, did the text read "for multiple entries?" As per a new memorandum, you can actually ask for multiple entry for the duration of your EAD...

What i read was only pertaining to AOS submitted w/ 765 and 131. are you referring to AP (multiple duration of EAD) via DACA?

Yeah- if the AP document via DACA stated "for single entry" or "for multiple entries."

They received my application on November 20th. Anyone think I can show up at USCIS and have it expedited there? I am being requested to travel next week, for employment purposes...Has anyone ever tried this?
