That's actually a good question.

http://www.scotusblog.com/case-files...tates-v-texas/ sheds some light on what would happen IF they comply:
Quote:
Solicitor General Donald B. Verrilli, Jr., had told the Court on November 24 that, if the states were given an extra eight days and they actually did meet that deadline, the government would be willing to consider forgoing its right to file a reply brief. That would mean, Verrilli said, that the Court could consider the case at its private Conference, scheduled for January 15. In turn, he added, the Court could decide the case this Term “in the ordinary course if the Court grants review.”

Private session? It means in favor of eDACA in mid January and case closed?

No I believe that's where they decided to whether to take on cases or not.

From what we know. They did grant 8 and not 30. Most likely to take case in this term.

If approved. I don't think the next Administration can over turn it right? This means the 3 years renewal would be in effect until Dream Act and/or CIR passed?

It also looks like the decision would come in late June. Would there be a 90 days wait like like last time? I don't think they need the time since it was ready to go anyway earlier this year.

I think it might take effect 30 days later?

August 1st could be the date for eDACA?

I am just speculating but also being realistic in my predictions as well.

This gives more momentum to Hillary and Bernie as well as the Democratic Party.

You need to understand why DACAExpansion/DAPA was stopped in the first place. I don't remember the details exactly but because of something not being clear enough, no discretion something like so. This is why this judge didn't touch original DACA. This is what this case is about, if this Supreme court ruling goes with our favor, it just means it will continue to go as planned. Thats really it. The next president CAN use an executive order (take in mind DACA was NOT an executive as what most people make it seem, USCIS sent Obama a memo and Obama approved it) to remove it. Likely? Yes if Trump wins, you bet your banned account, whatever it takes gimmick, he will get rid of it. I don't believe any candidate has actually express support for it other than Hilary. Chances of Trump winning? who knows now.

But if the case rules our favor, and DACA Expansion/DAPA continues as order, expect the next years to be interesting. Lots of states were already against DACA to begin win with many of them denying IDS to people with DACA.
