Advance parole and stamp

Guys i recently visited my home country and got back on AP. At the JFK Officer stamped on my advance parole saying valid until Jan 2017. Originally AP to valid until March, 2016. He also stamp on my passport saying valid until Jan 2017. what does that stamp means both on my passport and on AP?

When someone comes back through advance parole, they are paroled into the U.S for a year. Just like visa holders are stamped, it means on your I-94 that you are authorized to stay legally in the U.S until that date. However, we have DACA so the date is irrelevant, once your I-94 "expires" it doesn't mean you're illegally here. You're legal as long as your DACA is valid.

Some people who came here in the U.S without inspection use that I-94 to prove that they entered the U.S legally and if they are married they can get a green card

So that means they stamp on passport or on the Ap?
