I received a 3 year DACA that expires December 2017. So I can't renew before we get a new president. Let's hope the new president doesn't kill it off

Correct - lots of people are confusing DACA as if it was a Netflix 2 year subscription and so they can throw words like renew.

I remind people here that once your DACA which also expires the same date your EAD does. You're not renewing as your subscription to X magazine but asking uscis to reconsider your application again.

To be fair even USCIS refers to it as 'DACA Renewal' on the official website.

It really shouldn't be renewal then. Or it's the wrong phrase. I guess uscis knows best so if they're calling renewal then it's renewal. But don't confuse DACA renewal with your magazine of immigration today subscription that you can renew every so years

If my EAD expires in end of Sept 2016, then when is it okay to file for consideration renewal? I have not received a renewal letter. I thought it would be May 1 but looking at some timelines here, it seems members are applying before the 120-150 prior to expiration timeline.

Thanks Ianus. It's like back to what's real, the work permit really makes you feel normal.

You've been granted 3 years.... I am pretty sure USCIS sent out a recall for all 3 years work permits...
Unless I missed something along the way.

If you got a 3 year before February something then you can keep yours. If you got it after it then yes you were to return it for a 2 year replacement
