I am going to wait for the new guidelines to be issued to apply. My best bet is for humanitarian reasons.

Congrats!

So I wanted to ask how you put together your application for the Advanced Parole... I am doing my own application and will be requesting it for humanitarian reasons (visit my ailing grandmother) What kind of proof did you submit when requesting your AP and how was your packet put together since you got an approval ^_^ Thank you in advance!

This is awesome! Did you put 365 days under "Expected Length of Trip"??

Thanks!

Hi there,

So did you ask for specific dates for your advance parol or did you just ask for a whole year with multiple entries? I want to ask for 3 weeks but I am not sure if I should specify dates or just say "3 weeks" on my application? Thanks and congrats!

Carlos

Hey Guys! I was granted Advance Parole for Educational purposes to travel to Canada for a "alternative spring break" program which is a volunteer/educational experience that my university offered on February 10th of 2016. However, I received the notice yesterday (3/8/16) that my Canadian visa was refused due to my legal status here (DACA). I am from Colombia and my wife is a USC but has family in Mexico. I really want to do it to adjust my status.

Have you guys ever heard of any stories where you used the advance parole document to travel to a different country than the one you were approved for? I am thinking of going to Mexico as my wife's grandma is sick but I am unsure if I need to RE-apply for Advance parole or if I could you use my current one that expires in April/2016.

Thanks!

Andres

I was in a similar situation - got my visa denied to Canada after AP approval. I would recommend that you DO NOT use the AP to travel to another country other than the one for which you were authorized. This was the legal advice provided by a reputable immigration lawyer in Washington State. I know it costs a lot, but just re-apply. I chose to find a volunteering in my home country where I wouldn't need a Visa.

I've traveled to many other countries other then the country that I originally request to go to. I went to my home country for humanitarian reasons, I did what I had to do and had a lot of extra time so I decided to visit 2 other countries with that extra time. I did this twice and upon my return I had no questions what so ever about my trip abroad. I too talked to many lawyers about this before doing it and they all said that there is no issues.

Could you tell me a little more on what countries you went to? And which one you got approved to? What was the reason.

I am planning on doing it this weekend and would like the most info

Thanks a ton!

So did you re-apply? I have talked to multiple lawyers and some say to do it and some say not to. I also called US Customs 1800 number and they said it should be fine. However I still have a some fear.
