I submitted my AOS application last week. it's been 5 working days since the packet was delivered. But my check still hasn't been cashed yet. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to cash the check and send the NOA after since the day they receive the package?

Has it arrived at the processing center? Don't forget that officers have to process incoming applications. It can also take between 3-5 business days for them to process payment. Adjustment of status can typically take up to 6 months or more depending on several factors of your case. You have to be patient, a green card is at the end of the process

I did it thorough a lawyer. But I think I could have done it myself. I pretty much prepared everything, including the statement for the lawyer. I heard that some folks applied 90 days prior to their 3 years anniversary. I asked my lawyer about this and he seemed to think that we shouldn't do that. I saw on avvo.com that some lawyers say that it's possible. to be safe, you should wait until your date becomes current. It took me about a couple of months to get everything together. Yes, I did apply for AP and another EAD along with my AOS application.

My packet was delievered on April 20, 2016. They waited until 5/06/2016 to cash the application fee checks. Still no Receipt notice. My lawyer told me to wait 30 to 45 days and the notices should arrive within that timeframe. I just think it's taking longer than usual. When your time comes to apply, please ping me if you have any question about how to put together the AOS packet.

How long did it take them to send you the Receipt Notice (NOA) after they cashed the check? It's been a week for me sine they cashed the check and still no NOA in mail or text/email. Do you think they enter the application in the system at the time they cash the check or after?

Yeah I spoke to a lawyer today and she gave a list of all the documents I need. Did you need to get a re-certification? I'm curretly collecting all the documents I have to prove I been present for the 3 years. I'm including all my paychecks, bank statements, medical records, gym check ins, and work profile which include my hiring date up to now. What did you include?

I applied on 03/12/2015. Check cashed 03/31/2015. Walk in Bio 04/25/2015. Approved 07/22/2015. If you apply before the 3 years exactly you will get your application denied.

Thank you, SuperGSPorty. How long did it take them to send you the receipt notice (NOA) after they cashed the checks? Was your receipt date on or after the check cash date?
