So glad to find a female fellow DACA who's interested in the MAVNI program.
I have been gathering information for about a year but finally decided to enlist yesterday.
I took my ASVAB pretest about a week ago and just got my G-845 started yesterday.
Let's keep in touch since it seems like there isn't many future female soldiers in this forum.

I live in NYC. What about you?
Oh hey! Glad to meet another female daca friend to join MAVNI. Yay!
I thought I was the only one here..lol
Yeah, It's been about a year for me too..I needed a lot of time to finally decide that I wanted to enlist and then I also needed to prepare some documents as well. I just talked to my recruiter this Monday that I wanted to enlist and start the process...I'm so nervous but I think everything will turn out okay. I'm taking the pretest this Friday. How did it go for you?

How are you preparing for the physical tests? I never worked out in my life before so I'm a little worried...I can barely do a few push ups for now. lol

Yes, definitely keep in touch!
I live in Atlanta, GA.

Pretest was pretty good except that I walked in that day without thinking about taking it at all.
I good a decent grade, and since the recruiter told me that the actual asvab happens to be slightly easier than the pretest, I am hoping that I will do well on the real one as well.

My recruiter, who happens to be a female sergeant as well, reminded me that from where I am standing right now--that is having to verify my G-845--it will take anywhere from 2-4 weeks until I can actually get my hand on the ASVAB. I never flipped a page on that test, so I am kind of relieved to have some extra days to study for some of its parts.

BTW I am also Korean, and I start to feel like we might have other things in common as well.

I'm a new member of this forum and just started to apply MAVNI program to become a reservist.
However, my recruiter keeps saying that the reserve program might get closed by this early June.
Does anyone have any information regarding this?

Also, my ASVAB test is coming up in few weeks.
Is there any way that I could improve my scores by studying certain books?

If you have undocumented parents, wouldn't it be a good practice to give them a copy of your CAC ID and contract papers in the case of immigration knocking at your door while you are deployed or in training? I believe Kerry released a memorandum 'protecting' undocumented relatives of US military personnel.

Did you read somewhere where they said they'll discloses this to your references? As far as I know the character reference interviews don't dive into stuff like that, but I'm in the same boat also where everyone thinks I'm a citizen already and I prefer to keep it that way. If I get a chance to interview with the investigator prior to my references contacted, I'm going to mention this so they don't 'out' me lol

Also, you guys that are prepping for your Korean OPI, feel free to message me and I can walk you guys through some of the common questions/outline for the general OPI format. I'm not that fluent so I really had to prep to pass it, just by a hair.

I just finished taking the practice test and got like 64...lol I don't know if that is good enough, but my recruiter said I needed to have 50 or better for MAVNI so I think I did okay. He said that most people do better on the actual test too. I think I need to study for the actual test though.

Hmm my recruiter said I can go ahead and take the actual test anytime that I am available.. I think he mentioned that he will process G-845 while I take the test. Maybe each recruiter is different in how they process things? or maybe I've confused something else with G-845.

And I knew you were Korean! Glad to meet another hanguksaram...
Let me know how things go for you, I'll also update on my progress here.

I don't know if they will close in June but it can close down anytime. My recruiter kept telling me that there is no guarantee that this program will be available tomorrow, next week, or next month. Yeah, so I think it's better to get started ASAP.. if you are thinking of enlisting.

Did you take the practice test yet? I think there are some online practice tests which you can do for free. Also there are some books you can rent at local library.. I've seen some books in Barnes & Nobles as well.
