So what's it going to be it continue to be paranoid with DACA or join that MAVI program which aside from marriage is your only path for legalization here.

Welcome to the party, but how did you not know about your status this whole time?? I came here when I was 10 and within hours of being here knew we were in deep shit.

It never cease to amaze me how some of our peers can be 'so paranoid' yet when there is an opportunity to improve their situation they often times just ignore it and choose to continue to be depressed.

Koreans are one of the most fortunate dreamers out there. Just due to the fact that their language alone is accepted in the MAVNI program.

A lot of deliberate keeping me in the dark from my parents, mostly. The whole shitstorm that caused us to lose status had to do with a Korean community civil war that my dad's employer was deep in, and then my mum "joined" the other side by getting a job at a Korean BBQ that belonged to one of his opponents. My dad was given a ridiculous ultimatum to quit and give up the permanent residency proceedings which we were in the middle of, or get my mum to quit. She refused, employer dropped some nasty shit about divorce, and my dad got sick of it all and quit.

We moved to a state all the way across the country, where the remaining legal shit happened. Parents didn't think I needed to know, fed me with "we just have this obscure visa that you don't need to know about", would get snappy and angry if I questioned further. Bitter, bitter times.

Sorrybrah, would it be an option to apply to MAVNI after I get my bachelor's? I'm in the midst of applying to a major that has a lot of military folks in it, and I've heard great things from them.

Yea it would be an option but the question is, will MAVNI be open once you graduate? No one can tell since this program closes this year.

You should join the MAVNI program NOW if you can because he's right. No one when it will close if Trump or Bernie win and decide to end DACA.

Either that or find a white boy dying of yellow fever

I also want to add that it is not uncommon for your bct/ait shipment to get delayed. I am pretty sure you can work things out with a recruiter, the most important is to be able to sign the contract before the program closes.

Just here to help. You can follow my advise or do something else, good luck!

Har de har har, because all the American citizens are white /s
I haven't read anywhere about Sanders wanting to shut down DACA - it seems to be one of the things he and Clinton agree on.

Thank you for the advice. I'll talk to a recruiter. I realize at this point I value my parents' security in this country more than my own, but I do value getting that bachelor's a ton. Washington state makes DREAMers feel (most of the time) like they're people, just with a few extra steps, thank god.
