Congratulations! What service center was your application processed in?
Also what is your relationship to the family member you put down on your application?

Guys, what if my grandma (my last and only living relative in Mexico) is not sick or has no medical complications? Can I still request for AP?

Mine is Nebraska as well. It is for my uncle.

I contacted them on Monday to request for it to be expedited.

They put in a request and someone was assigned and responded right away (in mail) I will not know until I receive it in the mail.

When I was speaking with the immigration officer, he told me everything really depends on variables such as immediate vs non immediate family members, last time you saw them, etc... etc...

I am hoping to get approved soon and have it before July 7th. I already purchased my ticket. My mother and sister who are citizens were able to leave right away.

Also, I've heard of people being given different travel dates...

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I received a letter from USCIS regarding the expedite I've requested.

It pretty much said "although you're situation appears serious, you have no provided evidence to support an extreme emergent need which must meet one of the following criteria ;"

*severe financial loss to company
*extreme emergent situation
*humanitarian situation
Etc..... Etc.....

I'm a little confused because as far as I know AP we are applying for is a humanitarian situation.... Anyone else received this response in terms of requesting an expedite???

I've already purchased my ticket... So stressed out!!!
I am considering contacting my congressman next week.

Any advice??! Thanks in advance!

I was approved yesterday.
My uncle has to get an emergency surgery so I obtained a copy of recent medical status; coronary heart bypass surgery.
I contacted my congressman's office. Spoke to the nicest staff that went above and beyond to help me
I sent it to them at 10am, she nudged her congressional liaison in DC to apply for expedition.
Got a call that it was sent to the officer working on the case by 1pm
I received an approvel notification shortly after. I also showed them my tickets that were already purchased and they helped me tremendously! Approved within 6 hours.
