It doesn't matter if the doctor works for the government or is private practice. You will need to translate that letter into English. You will also need to prove you're related to her (your birth certificate and your parent birth certificate to show that she is your grandma). Then you're good to go.

By itself it's not enough proof. But with evidence showing your relationship to your grandma it should be enough. What else can immigration ask you? You should have a response from them in the coming months, hopefully sooner. Good luck Ruiz414

I think your letter is sufficient. I sent a translated letter from my grandma's doctor. She has health issues that come with age. I also sent a letter explaining how long it has been since I saw her last and how much it will mean to both of us. Along with translated birth certificates and required IDs.

Speaking from my experience, you should be fine if you have included all of the documents in your AP application packet.
And if they need some other pieces of information regarding you or your grandmother, all they are going to do is request you for more information so do not worry too much about it.

Were you approved? I recently sent out my AP application so I am nervous. Also, how long did it take for USCIS to make a decision on your case?
