The last two times my parents got a lawyer to do my DACA application but the last two times I didn't have a job. Thanks to DACA I do have a job and my DACA expires March 2017. I'm wanting to renew my DACA without a lawyer since I will be paying everything. Is it easy renewing on your own? Any tips for a first timer who'll be renewing solo and without a lawyer?

First and foremost, assuming your case was simple, sorry that you had to pay lawyer fees.

Secondly, DACA renewal is probably the easiest thing ever. The sticky thread on the first page of this forum "WHAT YOUR RENEWAL PACKET SHOULD CONSIST OF" is a great post that outlines what you should submit.

Lastly, you are overthinking this and I say that lightly because renewal is very easy assuming you can read and follow instructions and have a normal case without complications. Of course situations with complications may require lawyers which is why we can't really give you concrete information without knowing your case.

By knowing your case, we can probably suggest a lawyer depending on how complicated it is.

Good luck!

Renewal is a breeze. Just have your previous application ( a lot of things are the same) and make sure you fill out the sections that say "for renewals."

Read and reread the renewal application and it's very easy. I would say the majority of people here do it themselves and the others likely have a complicated case that involves a lawyer.

I suppose the hardest part for me is waiting for the notices and approval.

Those would be the value of property and assets you own. Example ( home valued at $180,000, 2010 Honda Civic at $5000, Boat $100,000, overseas accounts). If you owe on the vehicle then you wouldn't put that as an asset because typically you're underwater (meaning you owe more than its valued) until it's paid off
