I'm wondering is this is simply a case of people being away for summer vacation? It's so weird that processing is slow regardless of what type of application it is. Hopefully, it'll start picking up in August as more people return to work.

“I have also written to [Department of Homeland Security] Secretary [Jeh C.] Johnson urging his approval of the Proposed Rule, Enhancing Opportunities for H-1B1, CW-1, and E3 Nonimmigrants and EB-1 Immigrants, which would have provided a 240-day grace period for Departmental action on petitions reviews,” he said.

Sablan had proposed to DHS to have CW-1 workers be allowed to continue working for up to 240 days or eight months while their CW permit renewal applications are being processed.

How does this relate to DACA?

This is only for GC holders, not DACA. Confirmed with a lawyer.

Is there anyway we can direct some attention from the media to this? The squeaky wheel always gets the grease. I believe that if we can somehow organize some sort of mass awareness related to this, we can get our cases expedited, or create some sort of temporary solution to keep our jobs/lives going forward? I work for a Fortune 300 company, and I highly doubt they are going to let me go on a leave without pay as we're waiting for the bureaucracies to do their work.

Unfortunately, it does seem to be the case that processing time is now 6 months. I filed April 12 and a tier 2 rep told me that decision target date is mid-October; he told me the exact date but don't have it handy. He also said that when decision/approval is made, I765 is approved at the same time. Hopefully that is true, but it is contradicting with info that we have which tells us it can be up to 3 months for work permit to be approved after DACA decision.

I hope that's not the case, that will be insane my application is April 12 as well. I remember when I submitted my application NSC processing time was somewhere in 2015 then out of nowhere it was 3.5 months and now whatever crap that's listed on their page. They are wasting time and resources with all these different level of tier when they all have the same information basically but use different system. This job is so basic imo but they are making it so hard... They just need more resources for us at the Fbi department to run our background check and make these damn decisions. We are not asking to be on welfare or anything, just trying to work and support the economy.
