Hey everyone,

I got an approval =)

i'm so extremely happy I can't even believe it. I can tell you guys that I have the DACA letter in my hands. I'm still waiting to get the employee authorization card but hopefully that will arrive in a few days.

I've been checking my status online everyday and following this blog constantly. I had been checking on the uscis page and on Thursday I checked my "account" and there was an approval. I started crying unstoppable. On the uscis page it still showed the message that my bio metrics appt letter had been sent. So to see the approval was a huge deal.

My timeline is the following. they received my paperwork on May 23 (i sent it overnight) Chicago lockbox and then it went to Nebraska. My bio metrics were on June 24th and approved August 8th. Received the daca letter approved today. still waiting for work permit.

I hope this gives you guys some hope. I know I was reading every post waiting to see an approval.

Good luck everyone.

No, they're an advocate group. Shoot them an email with your situation: [email protected]

This is a problem, they cant just expect people to stop working and go back again. Its bad for employers.
USCIS service rep. told me that they are processing march applicants now :/
And when I called them this morning to tell them why haven't they approved my application if according to their website they are processing March applications (they received mine in February), the officer told me that whatever date it's on the website it's just an estimate. They will say anything to get you off their backs.

Can employers sponsor DACA recipients?
Unfortunately, no employers cannot sponsor DACA recipients. Even if they can sponsor you it takes forever and the employer has to prove that no other US worker can do the job that you can do. It's a big legal headache, to say the least.

I hope and pray that you and others get your approval soon and can keep your employment. My best wishes.

They can sponsor you for a H1B or to get a GC under EB2 or EB3 if you have the appropriate qualifications. The problem arises when you need to leave the country to get your visa stamped in the consulate. You'd trigger the 10 year ban and have to apply for the waiver in your country.

The the provisional waiver has been approved, you might want to look into it, given you can prove hardship and can qualify for an immigrant visa. It will also be super interesting to see USCIS come up with a concrete definition of hardship, hopefully a lot of us can get a GC through this.

Good to know I was unaware, however, I think getting a company to sponsor someone might be a challenge. Nonetheless, glad to know it can be a possible option.

I guess this is a topic for another thread. I have a bachelors and am working in the bio field. Am an overstay...bur hardship to a USC for a waiver is the hard part
