At least I tried, maybe I'll try again today. I have so much time now...

We are in pretty good communication about what's happening, and I trust them enough to at least let me know when they start thinking about opening my position to someone else. But the only good thing is that they said they will have a position for me, even if it's not the one I'm currently in.

I like your advice, so I'll keep my options open. If it looks like it's taking longer than expected (more than 2 weeks), I'll consider applying to other places as well. Lord knows it can be a challenge to not just find a job, but a decent paying one, so starting early could be helpful.

FYI,

In some states (e.g. California), if you are terminated due to a lapse in work authorization you can apply for unemployment benefits once you receive your new EAD. Use this option if your previous employer does not want to hire you back once you receive your renewal.

Reading all these delayed cases is freaking me out. My application, along with my brother's, were received on the July 14th with EAD expiring on 10/26/16. We weren't aware of the delay and how screwed up the USCIS currently is until I got worried since we haven't heard anything for about a month.

My brother's case says they scheduled a biometrics on July 22nd and sent the letter but we never received one. It also says if we don't get it by Aug 21st to submit an inquiry (and who knows how long that'll take to get a reply). His in the process of getting his access code because he never got one. Hopefully he didn't miss his appointment but it's becoming likely that he may need to reschedule.

Mine still says it's received and doesn't say anything about biometrics. I already submitted and inquiry about this and got an email with SR# to expect reply by Sept. 6th.

This whole situation is freaking me out and it's very unfortunate that some of us are still waiting and our jobs at risk.

Got a response from an e-Request about my missing biometrics appt today, stating "U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records indicate your Biometrics Appointment has not been scheduled. We have requested that your Biometrics Appointment be scheduled."

It's the 1st e-Request response I got that actually says something useful. I want to point out that this e-Request was the first one I submitted under my I-821D receipt number, my previous ones were done under the I-765 number... and I'm not sure why I did that...

Also, I had mentioned in an earlier post about being sponsored by my employer for a work visa (H1B), but it turns out that DACA recipients don't have a valid immigration status to allow for an H1B application... they will, however, sponsor me for a green card which is great news, but I will not be able to work after 9/8 until my new EAD arrives.

I just had my infopass appointment today. The case worker was not even able to find my case in their system. I think there was a major outage / system corruption at the NSC and they are covering it up by processing new cases to hide the average adjudication time. There is no recourse for us.

Hey guys, long time no talk, lol. It appears that my second renewal was approved today

The case status reads, "USCIS has approved your application or petition, or request. USCIS will mail your proof of benefit or USCIS action to you."

With the new ELIS thing, I believe that might be an approval.

Timeline:
Application received May 27,2016
Biometrics Letter sent May 28, 2016
Biometrics Appointment June 15, 2016
Approved August 18, 2016
DACA expires September 8, 2016

With this big fire going on that made us evacuate our home, I guess this is finally some good news.
