But I got a txt from the old number from the old CaseStatus SMS service and it said to check my case online. I also got the email notice like they used to send them out before ELIS.

This was one of my last emails to USCIS:
"Process my case outside ELIS. USCIS' internal ELIS issues have grossly delayed my application to the point that I have not been scheduled for biometrics. Everyone knows this is an internal USCIS issue and not the applicants. Process my case through CLAIMS 3, SNAP/NASS(manual), ELIS is not working for me."

I got an email that they had manually entered my information.

Which at the time I thought they were BS'ing, but NASS send out batch appointments on a weekly basis, so Friday night might have been the day it send out appointments since we both got it around the same time.

I'll be interested to see how the later part of the process works out.
That certainly is interesting. May I ask a couple questions?

1. Do you currently have an ELIS account?
2. To which email address did you send your inquiry regarding removing you from ELIS?

Thanks - I'm glad you've received a biometrics notice! Wow, the day when we rejoice over a simple biometrics notice.

I do have an ELIS account, I think everyone does regardless of if they login and use the portal or not.
I use the ELIS 'Contact Us' feature, I usually get a response within a couple of days.

Hey guys, I finally got my EAD card!!!

Timeline:
Expired: 8/17/16
Received: 3/21/16
Bio scheduled for and done: 4/13/16
I-821D Approved: 8/7/16 (received a few days later, but I could print it out)
EAD Approved: 8/7/16 : Sent to production: 8/10/16 : Mailed on: 8/18/16 (my account switched from in process / approved to closed and approved the day before 8/17/16): Received: 8/20/16.

Note: aside from when my application was first received. I never got any text/email updates. I had to go on my account and manually check. The tracking number for my EAD never appeared either.

Hope everyone gets theirs. Good luck!

Great, so it seems like a potential strategy is to request usage of the legacy system. What affect would that have, if any, post-bios?

I wonder if it would be helpful to also supplement this with a request to revisit the 120-day DACA extension. Yes, I know that nobody has been successful, but I wonder if those with delayed biometrics could make a case that over 60 days and no bios is certainly beyond processing times. Who knows.

I have an InfoPass on Wednesday, I know I am going to give it a go. I'll lie if I had to, but its certainly an option I have to exercise. Worst case is they put in an expedite request like they did two years ago. I only have 11 days to go.

Good luck, man.

They still have the 120-day extension language on their site, and someone said a USCIS rep cited some internal memo. I wonder if we can find something more authoritative online, like that memo or a regulation (i.e. In the Federal Register) from which to cite.

Sadly, USCIS no longer issues interim EAD's, source:

it's on page 9.

I wonder if anyone has thought about pursuing a different avenue here. So maybe what we're looking for is not an interim EAD that is cited in the memo. Maybe there is some other regulation or memo that authorizes something similar to that interim EAD. That document stated that the interim EAD was eliminated in 2006. That 120-day possibility was published post-DACA, so we're looking at the earliest, in 2012. Why would USCIS even contemplate the 120-day extension six years after it eliminated those interim EADs? Maybe there is something else out there that we're just not seeing because we're so focused on the interim EAD.

USCIS does Not offer any temporary help for DACA, period. Matter fact they will not expedited your case no matter what are the circumstances...What we can is to follow up with them as much as possible. The only slight chance we have is if USCIS received your app 120-150 days before the expiration date they might be kind enough to approve your case if background is completed beside that DACA recipients are their last priorities from my experience. I think we should start our own online campaign, tweet them non stop and maybe we can even post a petition to sign by all DACA recipients and friends. Good luck to everyone again
