I wonder if it differs from state to state?

Hi SRafaela,

It appears that DACA recipients are eligible for unemployment benefits in Texas. Read here under page 5. Note that you must have an unexpired EAD card in order to qualify. The reason why we qualify for unemployment benefits is because the employee/employer pays for it; it is funded by the worker therefore we are entitled to it.

Always remember to apply for unemployment benefits regardless of the cause (e.g. lay off, fired, etc). There is not harm in getting a denial.

Hope it helps.

If that's the case, you are eligible for unemployment benefits provided you have a current EAD card. I know this for a fact since I have gone through the process.

Again, always apply for unemployment benefits...let them be the ones to tell you no.

Yeah, I live in California. I was just wondering if there was anything out there. I mean.. I've worked for many years, paid my taxes and all so I don't see what the big deal would be. I resigned from my last job and I'm being selective on where I want to work next but that process has taken me longer than I thought so could definitely use the help if it's available
