I got a response to a service request I submitted last week. I really hope someone is actually looking at my case now. Before the response I got was " your case is in line to be reviewed," so this is a different response

Type of service requested:
-- Outside Normal Processing Times

The status of this service request is:

Your case is currently under review by an officer. You should receive a decision, correspondence or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter.

We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your continued patience.

Hope you hear back on it soon!

I wonder why "under review" takes time esp. for renewal..all they need to do is make sure background checks are good, and we still continue to meet eligibility?

Yup, you are right. In theory, a renewal should be much easier since they don't have to verify all the paperwork any more, but who knows!!

Got a response from the Ombudsman's office.

"The CIS Ombudsman's Office received an update from USCIS informing your case is still being actively reviewed. USCIS is not sure how long the review will take but will continue to provide the Ombudsman’s Office with updates.

As the updates are received, you will be notified. We hope that you find this information to be helpful and thank you for your continued patience.

Sincerely,

Office of CIS Ombudsman"

And I say, go fuck yourself, USCIS. And I mean that sincerely.

As others are posting their wonderful experiences checking with customer service.
Called early this morning and got a Tier 2 transfer. Scheduled wait time was said to be 65 minutes, got a call back after 4hrs. Tier 2 rep says
"aah DACA renewal. You just gotta wait. Nothing to look up and can't provide useful info telephonically." After I asked for a tentative timeline, "you continue doing what you are doing currently i.e. Waiting." and he just hung up.

Called back again and got another Tier 2 transfer. Scheduled wait time was 99 minutes. Yet to hear a peep..

Just had my Tier 2 call me back to tell me the processing time is 6 months even for renewals. I asked about the temporary extension of your EAD, and she said USCIS discontinued that 10 years ago! When I asked her why it's still on the FAQ for DACA, she said it's above her pay grade.

She was such a bitch to me. She rushed me off the phone and couldn't care less. I'm going to call again to talk to someone who can be more helpful.

So frustrating. Do they realize we can't just forward this to our work/utilities etc. and say "thank you for your continued patience."

Information is not helpful b/c no one buys or put up with this BS except us.
They can shove it where sun doesn't shine.

Guys, I know we are in desperate times with this whole delayed thing, but at the end the govt has the last word. I know it sucks but one day afte thousand of callers, USCIS is gonna be like we can't handle this shit anymore and request to shut down the program. Reasons they could give, no budget, no personnel, many multiple reasons. Let's patiently wait and do what we can do to keep up with our lives. Many of us have called them, and we always get the same lame responses. It sucks, but eventually they will get to each of us ( most likely in less than 6 months) From previous posts, I could tell USCIS is getting irritated with all our calls, maybe we should just leave it to a mediator like NILC, or other nonprofit to handle the situation in a more political way. Let's contact them instead. Better patiently wait, than loose everything us Dreamers have fought for so far. This is election year, many things could change in the future for us, in a good way, or bad way :/ Let's be prepared!

Haha! Yes! This is a joke right now. I just called them this morning and they told me they don't know how long it would take them to get to my case since they're barely working on February applications. So who the hell knows when they'll get to me. I won't be able to keep my job since it expires next month.

Canada is looking more lucrative every day.

I called them earlier today and the lady told me they're working on February applications. It's going to take months to get to me. I won't be able to keep my current job. Life totally sucks again. I got so comfortable I forgot I have to deal with this every 2 years.

That's no way to live. Just when you're feeling normal again. Ayyyy~
