I think through a background check, unless you worked under the table.

Don't feel too bad, I went to the US Virgin Islands and had a blast for a week. All of this and I only had to show my Driver's license at the airport.

I wonder if we continue working but ask HR/payroll to not pay us until new EAD is provided.

No, please do not work for free, it will set a precedent for them to take advantage of you and your pay. You have a set of skills that you bring to the table and you should be compensated for your work.

Would not be possible, it would still be illegal employment. Voluntary work also requires an EAD.

I keep checking this thread, and I already know the answer to my own question, but the whisper in my head says to keep on keeping on.

I still have over a month until I expire, bios done May 31st, but ugh.. the nerves.

No I was asking if it would be possible for payroll to pay me at a later date but I guess this would be a mess for the accounting dept. Looks like I will have to ask for a leave of absence. Hopefully 1 month will do....

Hey keep on keeping on! I was freaking out myself and wrote this thread then got approved the next day. Some are not fortunate but be hopeful, it will come on time!
