My supervisor has to submit paperwork to waive the standard procedure (posting job online, selecting candidates, etc.) and then once it's approved I have to go through a background check that takes a while

So the ombudsman submitted a request for an update and this is what they go. Not helpful

So my boss came up to me today and hinted at me staying on working until I get approved.

Is there any legal repercussions for me if I were to stay working while my EAD gets approved?

Bro! may god hear you! cuz they are really pressing me here at work. I need a new EAD ASAP or face termination.

I saw one person who expired that did a Self Check, but like myself the 'credit bureau' identity test prevents for the check to be performed.
Anyone else who expired do the check to see if youre still authorized to work?
My theory is that you still have Work Authorization, but USCIS is not telling you.

I can't verify, unless it's ran by my HR, but they are letting me work through this process. Would be worth a shot for those who went on leave or are using PTO.

All these low bid contractors are public record, so its not hard to find out.
Do you know what aspect of the process is being fixed, I don't think ELIS is still communicating with all the platforms. I can see USCIS reverted back to some legacy systems to schedule people for bios. ELIS is still not pushing notifications to legacy CaseStatus.

And we appreciate it. Personally, I don't want to get my hopes up, you know?

Yeah, it's hard to keep our hopes up considering the circumstances we're in but thank you for sharing. I wonder if this new procedure takes place right away (i.e should we expect to see it's outcome this week?).
