At the beginning of July, a customer Service rep told me it was rerouted there because Nebraska was experiencing serious delays. I was never notified, but I can tell through the mycasestatus portal.

Is ELIS still down?

so when you check on the mycasestatus it says it is being processed at the NBC?

Nop up and running again just checked but still no approval!!

Just got off the phone with an immigration officer. She confirmed my case was in Nebraska and not California as T1 rep told me. She said my biometrics were received but they are waiting on my background check (done by 3rd party company) she mentioned these two are different. My case was last looked on August 30th so she said it is still actively being worked on. This is all the info I got.

That sounds way more helpful than what a lot of us have gotten.

So I'm wondering, did they just lose everyone's background checks and are having to redo them? I've seen background checks marked as a reason multiple times on here.

It's their way of blaming a third-party company so they don't have to shoulder the responsibility.

The obvious answer is that they fucked up because of the data corruption. Easier to get people off the phone when they blame the background check done by a third party company and give them the "there's nothing we can do about it" talk .

The length of time it takes for a name check to be completed varies from name to name. Currently, the NNCP receives over 65,000 name checks every week, with about 50 percent coming from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
