2 weeks ago from today I received a rejection notice along with my entire Renewal packet. The money order returned had a "US Department of Homeland Security" stamp on it. Along with the rejection notice, I received a green sheet of paper that tells me to put this paper on top of the packet when I fix the mistake and send it back. Apparently I forgot to sign a part of the i-821d form that I had no idea we had to? So I went ahead and signed page 6 section 7a and 7b. For the hell of it, I decided to sign the last section on form i-765 just incase they needed that too. This is my 2nd renewal and I did the first one all by myself. I do not recall ever signing these parts 2 years ago. I resent the renewal packet with the newly signed signatures that same day(August 23) and put the green sheet on top of everything. It got to the Chicago lockbox location early morning on the 25th via tracking. It is now September 6th, over 10 days since they got it but I still have yet to get the receipt? I'm stressed out my mind as I thought I would already be done with biometrics if this mess hadn't happened. Worst thing is I'm expiring in 2 months mid November.

The days of quick approvals are long gone.

What the hell is with your title?
Why be so pessimistic?

RFE's happen. You'll get approved.

I wonder if the elections have anything to do with renewals taking longer.

From what I read here it was a computer System problem but who knows what the truth is.
