It seems like K-Man was right about the glitch that shows case was accepted September leading to approval soon
I did several service requests, sent messages on USCIS online inbox system, sent emails to NSC, had my case flagged twice by NILC and had my case elevated by ILRC.

It's a great feeling knowing that a lot of people with expired permits have been approved. As most people have said, this has been one of the most challenging periods of our lives but I truly believe that we will all be better for it and not take even the simplest of privileges for granted.

I won't bore you on the details on everything I did to keep my case going but the last correspondence I received was from my congresswoman in a letter stating that my case was "pending caseworker asssignment". This was two days ago, 9/6. I started to think that I will not get approved. I checked the ELIS website on my phone 2 hours ago and nothing was updated. I reached home and did what I usually did, check this forum and this thread to see if other people have been approved, selfishly hoping that good news for others means good news for me eventually.

I checked a 30 minutes ago and I WAS APPROVED! I immediately told my mom who has been praying for me everyday. I told my sister who blames herself for putting me in this situation since it was because of her I left my home country as a child. And I just feel grateful. Grateful for this challenge in life, grateful for the people in my life, and grateful for all the strong people on this forum either reading this or contributing to it.

I can go on and on and I have tears in my eyes while I type this. But in life, and this thread is a microcosm of this, keep fighting even if you're down; remember it's never too late to start and no matter how people treat you, do your best to lift people up instead of breaking them down because everyone has demons they need to fight and all of us should especially know this and empathize.

One thing I'm certain of, any challenge that life will throw at us, we will be prepared for. There are people around the world going through much worse than we did but when you're going through it, the only thing that matters is what affects us directly. A piece of paper that says "Approved" doesn't define me but right now, I feel more human.

Congrats to all that were approved today. I hope anyone who hasn't been so far and has been expired or close to expiration will be approved soon.
