Guys, so my new EAD was received in the mail July 27th, but I never received my I821D Acceptance Notice letter. I checked online for the status of my I821D, and is currently under processed, meaning my renewal has not been approved. But strange that my I765 was approved and EAD was mailed.

Has anyone received their EAD without I821D Acceptance Notice letter?

This is my second renewal.

Did you check the ELIS site to see if they may have it there? If not, try it if you ever got the authorization code in the mail. If not, you might want to request it to the CS number or E-request. I did that last renewal.

Why do you need it? If you got your EAD, it means you're approved...

I believe he's talking about the 821D letter that shows your case is deferred for two (2) years. You absolutely need that. I think he should be getting it very soon.

I'm missing the part why it's necessary. The fact that you have an EAD from a DACA application means that your case WAS deferred. Those two things go hand in hand--you can't have one without the other.

No my brah...I think we are not on the same page. Either you're not understanding me or I'm not thinking about the same thing you're thinking about. Look at the pic I've attached. You need this document. Yes you're right the EAD will show this as "C(33)" which is the DACA category. He has definitely been approved you're right about that. But ultimately one needs this document, especially for example if he was to go out on AP. He would need this to get back.

As far as your renewal is concerned, you have DEFINITELY been renewed so with that regards you don't need to worry! But yes, keep pursuing that document.

My Broseph Gordon-Levitt, I know which letter that OP is talking about.

My thinking was that since the EAD card shows C(33), why does he also need the letter to prove his deferred status? It's not like he got his I-765 application approved without is I-821D also being approved at the same time. So if someone were to doubt his deferred status, can't OP just show the EAD and be done with it?

Looks like we are slowly getting on to the same page! Lets put it this way. Lets say he was coming back on AP and about to board the flight back to Americuhhh. In scenario 1, he had only the EAD. In scenario 2, he had only that 797 DACA approval document (official document which has the seal and security marks). Guarantee you they would not let him board in scenario 1 (although it does have the C33, the only thing these people will read is the big sentence saying "Not valid for reentry."). That document is equivalent to a green card for him (and all of us of course) the way I see it. Its good once you get it and even the EAD to completely store both of those away somewhere safe! But you're right, technically he doesn't really "need" it but in cases where he has to prove he is lawfully present, that document is the one to prove it.
