Renewing Driver's license right before EAD expires?

Has anyone tried this before? I did my biometrics last week but my license expires next month. I was wondering if I don't have my freshly renewed EAD by the expiring date, would they allow me to renew my Driver's license?

I was able to renew mine in Ga for 120 days with my I-797, I know that other states accept it too

In MN your license has a special "Status Check" on the corner, which matches the day your EAD expires.

Thanks! That's awesome. I am in GA too. Which I-797 are you referring too? I haven't been approved yet just have my biometrics appointment notice with the signed stamp from the ASC officer.

The receipt paper you got when USCIS confirmed they got your package. Basically it proves your document is being processed, and you should be able to use that to extend your driver's license depending on your state laws.

my license is expired and im still waiting for approval its been 150 days. Have you guys tried renewing license while still pending

Depending on which state you live some will allow you to extend 120 days if you show them you are waiting for approval with the I-797 notice that states you are in the process of renewing your EAD.
