Hey guys, hope everyone is doing pretty well.
I'm a little concerned about my application, I'm hoping that you guys can give me some advices here.
That's my timeline.
First I sent my application to a USCIS office in Phoenix on Agst 31, and it got there on sept 1st. After two weeks they sent the package back with a notice saying that we sent it to a wrong office, that we should have sent it to Chicago.
So, on sept 17 my mother in law & my wife resented the package, but to the right location which is Chicago Illinois. On Oct 6 We got 4 notices laters from USCIS With the receipt numbers and all of that. On October 7 we got another notice later with the Biometrics appointment, which was scheduled for October 18. Well, I did go to the appointment on that day and I had my finger prints done, and also a picture taken. Now, Yesterday I was on my status to see if they had updated something and saw that they're sending a notice later that asks for initial evidences. That's my concern here my friends' I do not know what they are talking about. Does anyone here has been in this situation, and what you guys did?

Thank you it's Reinaldo,

Dude!! You can travel anywhere in the United States and even Puerto Rico with a VALID DL. The DL can't be expired. I don't care what's written on it..it has to be valid and not expired. You don't need any EAD or BS like that to travel within the U.S. I fly al the damn time all over the place. Ain't nobody give a shit. The last time I came back to JFK with A/P..the officer..funny Guyanese chap..just took my documents and was like "Yo welcome back dawg!". I was like ohh shit aight straight..thanks brahhhh. On the real, don't stress and go to Hawaii with your DL Errbody need to do some soul searching from time to time.

Update: Saw that you're from New York. I remember a while ago there was development regarding New York drivers licenses. Some states were going to adopt some laws where they wouldn't accept NY licenses at airports...something like that not sure. Thing is that those NY licenses seem to be relatively easier to fake compared to other states. Will need to look it up coz I don't remember.

You could probably drive though!
You can fly anyone in the U.S. with a valid Drivers License. You don't need an EAD.

damnnnn
Glad I live in Maryland, we've been compliant for a long time so if I ever decide to actually take a vacation domestically, I won't have issues.

Thanks guys, I got my DACA letter on the mail yesterday so I'll just bring that along with me in case the TEMP VISITOR thing becomes an issue.

I might go to the Keys instead.

They'll defer it again. Watch, we'll hit 2030s and they'll be giving extensions.

If you're traveling within the U.S., you're risking losing that letter. Just take our word. You only need a valid drivers license to travel by air in America. Tons of people have the "Temp Visitor" DL. Each state is different. My state mentions "Not valid for Federal ID purposes". But if it makes you comfortable, sure go ahead and take that notice with you but don't give it to an officer voluntarily and better safeguard it.

theres no issues traveling within states. i flew so many times within states. as far concern for overseas yes i would take any letter and documents showing that ur case is in progress. even they won't make any issues but keep in hand bag to show them if anything happens. but relax nothing happens. by the way don't show anything else until or unless they ask for it or make any trouble. good luck and have a safe trip.
