Is this still required? IF so, can someone show me where it states it is required? Thanks.

It's required for the EAD application. Look at the instructions for I-765, it'll tell you to send two passport photos with your name and alien number written on the back

Malignon is right. But I think it is a complete waste of money since they use the biometrics pic in the end anyways. The procedure for sending in the passport pics is contained in the EAD side of the protocol. The DACA side has us having to do the biometrics and they use that information to create the EAD.

Why they don't use the passport pics that we send them, I still can't seem to figure out from a protocol point of view.

So, send the pics anyways just so they don't return your application due to a technicality. Just act like the original DACA application fee is $15, or whatever you paid to get your passport pics taken, higher. Make sure to hand write your name and alien number on the back of each photo as they ask for too.

I forgot to send in a passport photo for this 3rd renewal, but they didn't send me an RFE. I have my DACA approved but my work permit is still pending. I forgot to send it on my 2nd renewal last time also and they didn't say anything. The only time I remembered sending a passport photo was the first time I applied for DACA.

I supposedly read all the instructions and failed to noticed we needed to send those pictures so I didn't. Till today no one from USCIS has told me they were missing or anything. We shall see.
