I'm in the same boat as you, married to a usc hoping to use advance parole to adjust my status. I applied for AP for educational purposes, they received my application 9/21, still waiting for an approval.
USCIS is taking extra long to process my application, they have me stressed waiting.
So my advice is to try applying for AP but there's no guarantee it will get approved in time for you to travel and return by January 20. If you do apply, I read on this forum it may help your application if you write expedite on the application. It's worth a try.

I think getting a chance to finally adjust our status is worth the risk of doing it in these last few weeks of Obama's presidency. So I hope I get approved within the next week and that you are able to get yours approved soon too. Wishing us both good fortune and blessings.
