Cedillo had amended that part out of the bill but it looks like it's now back??
Someone please verify that I am right ??
And someone that knows about this kind of stuff what is the next step??
Arnold would probably veto it though.. But I mean they wouldn't have amended it BACK to allowing drivers licenses regardless of citizenship if they didn't think they had some support..

I believe that is saying that they are thinking of issuing a driving certificate [not an actual license that can be used for identification purposes] to illegals in California.

For those Spanish imparied, Arnold vetoe the law because he is waiting for CIR and Real ID law. The current law is a modification that can grant state IDs to undocumented Californian but only works for the state and only for driving. It cannot be use to open a bank account or take a commercial plane. Thus, the new law is not challenging the Real ID in case both bills became law. I think the California goverment works more of less like the USA goverment thus the law has to pass the senate and the assmebly.

Then Arnold has to sign it into law. Well, it appears the bill is already in the senate. Still, i am not sure brecause, frankly that web site sucks. This is what I got so far.

Yeah, all state governments are replicas of the federal government; i.e.:

Fed: President = State: Governor
Fed: House of Rep= State: House of Rep. or Assembly

and etc. etc.

Yeah.. Arnolds been vetoing it for years which is why Cedillo took out those provisions.. but then now he just put them back in unexpectedly.. would he do that if he didn't have a good case this time ?? Maybe he compromised with Arnold?
