I have been stressing today over the Kobach announcement also. Jeff Sessions seems to be leaning towards the Secretary of Defense position so that will take him out of the running for Secretary of Homeland Security and A.G. My hope is Christie gets that Homeland Security spot and anyone but Kobach gets A.G. If Kobach does get the A.G. position, perhaps he doesn't get approved.

All of these trump "supporters " here doesn't seem to care the people in trumps REAL team. And most of them had issues with DACA. So if they had issues with DACA and again DACA doesn't give us any benefits someone with a legal status here, what exactly does the real team trump have in store for us if they decide to get rid of DACA ?

That's the fear that I have. Trump alone is harmless. The team he surrounds himself with is the problem. I hope we find who he picks by the end of the week.

Looks like Obama's comments are being heard by the GOP; hopefully Trump starts his administration with the right foot, and honors the current DACA program. He has been silent on it thus far, so no news is good news ?

Not to worry what Americans think about DACA. The fact is that the Congressmen know it inside out. They know what it is. DACA was the brainchild of the entire fight for immigration reform. This Congress, both Republicans and Democrats (for the majority) will fight tooth and nail to convince Trump and speak with him to keep the program running. I am also fearful of idiots like Kobach and Arpaio but at the present moment I feel confident that Trump can hold is own and if he backs his abilities and his own thought process, we should be alright. Immigrant community has a lot of weight in and around Congress, that's for sure. Gutierrez would go apeshit if anyone tries to harm immigrants. I feel like Gutierrez and company would do just well with Trump. Trump has good relations with all sorts of Hispanic councils. Hasn't become a businessman just by waving a magic wand. He has immense immigrant influence throughout his career. People just need to drill this down their head that he had to speak that way in order to win the election. Who the hell cares after winning the election.

No news is indeed good news. I've seen this coming for the past year. Trump throughout his campaign has said he will deport criminals but he hasn't said a word even still after winning about what he intends to do with the rest. I've been picking up some of his words through interviews and articles, I can always spot out few positive things. For obvious reasons, he didn't lay out a plan of legalization. It's not the most popular thing to say amongst his supporters. But what they don't know doesn't hurt them. So now you will see once Trump is inaugurated, he will come up with concrete plans.

I wish Trump will just give us a straight answer now. The uncertainty is killing me.

Much needed optimism when a dude like Kobach could be around the corner. If we know one thing about Trump though, is that he does whatever he wants. Just hate the level of uncertainty.

My prediction is that first time DACA applications will be halted. There is no way he's going to let it go on untouched. Whoever already has it though will be able to keep it and renew...

I am telling you, this is very likely to happen IMO, because this appeases both sides of the aisle in some way.

I will feel bad for anyone who is not applying for DACA thinking they are avoiding a mass deportation raid by not giving out their information, and then it turns out DACA turns into a locked program with current beneficiaries left alone, and no new applicants allowed ever again (or until a new President changes that)

Although, it could possibly go the other way, and by not giving out their information, they are the ones left alone, and all DACA beneficiaries are hunted down.

But in all honesty, scenario one seems more likely, doesn't it? Or am I just naïve? IMO it seems like the logical path...
