With his pick for DHS and now this, I have hope that we might actually see something in the near future that might give us green cards.

I remember how terrifying it was to see Trump elected...now I am cautiously optimistic? What is this year.

But in the back of my head is how despite being called the most sympathetic undocumented group, we have never been able to pass anything through both the House and Senate. I do feel that DACA has allowed more Republicans to be more open in their support for us. We have shown that we are beneficial to society and the economy, and we are vetted every 2 years to show we are model citizens. I guess what I am saying is that we have been given the opportunity and we have shown our worth. That is the biggest difference now from the last time DREAM Act was proposed. And, I sincerely hope it's enough for lawmakers to let us be free in this country that we love.

^ cautiously optimistic. There's nothing concrete yet but looking promising. They have to deal with us one way or another this time.

And that is what I am glad about. I am tired of this back and forth. I am cautiously optimistic especially after what happened with Rick Santorum last night. He pissed off A LOT of folks with his response.

Trump, do something good for Dreamers.

You're looking at a lifetime Republican/Trump supporter if you do.

My gut feeling is becoming stronger that anyone who doesn't sign up for DACA in an attempt to hide from possible mass deportation or something is setting themselves up for the biggest heartbreak of their lives.

Imagine if legislation is in the works and only benefits DACA beneficiaries at the time of bill passage...so anyone trying to renew after that gets auto denied or is locked out.

I don't care if I was 18 or 25 or whatever, the moment I have a chance to get papers, I take it...and then handle whatever obstacle that comes after that the best way possible.

I am not trying to cause any panic, but anyone who knows they can be approved for DACA but are not signing up in some effort to hide from the government may be destroying their only pathway of opportunity in this lifetime (besides AOS through marriage or something)

Graham and Durbin have repeatedly said that it will only benefit those who came out of the shadows... "If you have it right now, you keep it".

Exactly, In my opinion DACA will be cancelled, However, those who have it will keep their permits until they expire, so ideally you want to AOS within those 2 years, IF you can.. find a nice girl to marry!
