When I visited local USCIS office via infopass I asked them what happens during that service request. They said sometimes your case gets "stuck" in the system (technical issue) and nobody notices it, and when they look at your case to do an inquiry per your service request they may find it and fix the issue. But I heard that it might not be helpful and the only thing I can do is to wait from another immigration officer before.

I really don't think it was coincidence that I got my EAD approval shortly after I requested a service for inquiry. I've heard otherwise before from many.
They didn't say that they would escalate my case, I used that word when I emailed them.
(explained my situation and requested to escalate my case). So here is brief timeline:

Service request over the phone: 11/22
Visited local USCIS office: 11/29
Emailed NSC follow up: 12/2 (Friday)
EAD approval: 12/5 (Monday)
Reply from NSC follow up on DACA/EAD approval: 12/6

Same thing happened when I was waiting for biometrics for 2+ months.
Requested service inquiry and they scheduled my biometrics within 2 weeks.
I know many people did everything they could and didn't get a good response.
Do it again. When you talk to a different immigration officer/agent, who knows?
It's not over until it's over. Good luck!
Ok. Thank you so much for responding and for the information. It's helpful. I'm one of those people who have pretty much tried everything without success. I'm glad you're done with this. Thanks again!

I really hope you hear from them soon, I know how the waiting game feels. I always wondered how come it took longer for others. I guess some factors may include whether or not they left the Country and background checks. Could that maybe apply to you? I saw the notice on the USCIS site stating they had a backlog (Nebraska Service Center), so I expected mine to take longer but I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Sounds like WE might be the lucky ones actually since ours is pretty similar

All the best!!

My case was pending for 209 days before I was approved, I still can't believe it, I was actually starting to loose hope. To everyone else still waiting, keep calling and emailing USCIS, contact your congressional representatives, and keep asking ILRC and/or NILC to elevate your case.

Hope everyone gets approved soon

So here is my timeline of this nail biting process:

Application received: 6/15
Biometrics notification: 8/26
DACA/EAD expired: 9/5
Biometrics done: 9/12 (with appointment, they did not let me walk-in)
EAD approved: 12/5
EAD card arrival: TBD

I've been out of work for exactly 3 months as of today. I lost employment with the hospital I worked for over 3 years. I recently applied for an advanced nursing program from which I was notified last week that they could not process my background check. I requested a second background check this morning and coincidentally, my EAD was approved, so we will see.

During this time I visited local USCIS probably 3 or more times, called customer service to file service request x2. I waited for biometrics for about 2 months and they sent me notification few days after I filed service request. I called customer service last week and filed another service request to escalate my case (and also emailed them) and voila, it was approved today (Monday).
I highly recommend filing service request to escalate your case. Although visiting local office didn't do much, I was told that I could also send a letter to appeal to the service center (for humanitarian purpose/extreme hardship). Sometimes you do get unexpected info that way. Don't ever think those times are wasted.

I hope you all get your approval soon. And you will.
I felt like I was slowly drowning every single day. I really really wish the best of luck to you all.

Which state do you live in and which service center was your application processed at?

Biometrics done 8/8/16

Don't give up hope I went to an infopass called and got my case looked up by an officer I also contacted my local congressman and told them about my situation.

When did you go to your infopass? Thought about doing this, but everyone said it does nothing.

But why would you rely on what someone said when it's about your future?
Go check it out. It may be useless but you may also get some valuable information unexpectedly like I did. Go with list of questions. Even if you don't get anything out of it at least no harm is done, right?
Also, if you want to go to infopass better schedule early. Depending on location/how busy they are sometimes you have to wait at least 1-2 weeks.
Try sending an email to NSC follow up too.

yeah, you've got a point. i haven't heard of anyone getting anything out of it, which is why i saw it as a waste of time, but i guess it's better than doing nothing.
