My biometrics appointment is on 1/13 and as we all know Trump is being inaugurated a week later. So I was curious to know about walking in for the biometrics appointment early, is it normal for people to do? What do you tell the people working there? I just want to give myself as many days as possible to get approved even if its only a couple days. You never know, I might get lucky and get approved quickly.

I've done it the three times since I've applied, renewed. First time I just walked up to the guard and handed them my appointment letter, I don't think he saw the appointment time and just let me in, no questions asked. The second time I was questioned why I came early and I just told them that I wanted to see if I could get it done that day, the guard asked one of the other workers there and I was given the okay. Third time the guard questioned me again and I told her that it took me a long time to get my biometrics appointment letter and my shit was going to expire soon. She told me to come back in an hour when they were less busy, so I did.

Your experience might differ, obviously, some places might not let people do walk-ins, others do. You could try telling them that you're not sure if you would be able to take the day off from work on your appointment date and since you were off that day, you wanted to see if you could get it done early.

My original biometrics appointment was on Jan. 13 as well; so knowing about all those who walked-in in the past I wanted to do the same. My experience (first time doing it out of the three times I've applied) was exactly the same as JJ Glo the first time. I walked up to the guard, he asked whether I had an appointment and I said yes (he didn't technically asked whether my appointment was for that day though so I did reply truthfully), I showed my appointment letter and I'm sure he didn't see the appointment date. And that was it.

Just make sure you go early in the morning, I went at 11:00 and was there waiting for 5 hours doing absolutely nothing but twiddling my thumbs because I didn't bring books and you can't have your phone lol. The guard told me it's easier when you go I. The morning
