I was just about to say if Trump doesn't rally for this then there he is a total lunatic. There's no freakin way this bill can fail. Straight up.

"It was reintroduced in the Senate for the new Congress, and in the House for the first time, with more co-sponsors now but still far from enough to ensure success or even a vote on Republican-controlled Capitol Hill."

"They plan to campaign for that vote actively if Trump repeals Obama's executive order."
"Graham, Durbin and other supporters of the measure believe they can easily get enough support for passage, if leaders are willing to put it on the floor."

Well I guess the idea is that that will give them extra time to come up with a broader bill. All this congress business is quite confusing to me some times. I mean if Trump opposes this he will simply sign some other stupid executive order of a sort or make Republicans repeal even this but I do think there's nothing here for him to oppose. Republicans seriously have to help pass this or else I just don't know man.

I do not foresee this passing, I am sorry but this will be labeled as amnesty. They need to let us join the military for citizenship, attach this to major crackdown on criminals and also money for the wall. Then it could may be pass, maybe that will be the strategy, who knows, it could be a long time until they look into this to be honest.

I hear ya, but what I am wondering is if 3 years is enough.

You know what this bill kinda looks like to me (but I am not complaining if this is the best we can get)...it looks like a way to shift the concept of our relief from being renewable to something that expires and dies after some time.

You see, it is virtually taboo to take away a humanitarian relief and then say "fuck you" to whoever benefited from it without any replacement to help those people move forward with their life. By getting rid of DACA, the ones responsible for getting rid of it would have to explain themselves on what they are going to do with the people who used to benefit from it...do they just abandon those people? Doesn't seem that great for PR...

...but with this Bridge Act, if it is not renewable...then maybe they can ignore it and let Bridge Act run its cycle, and then when it expires and then anyone who benefited from the Bridge Act needs something new to help them continue with life...then they can say "well the Bridge Act expired, and going forward we will see what we can do for those that are now back in the shadows, but we can't promise anything".

That is what I am afraid of, but ultimately don't have much control over.
