I'm looking into moving to Canada but I'm a little worried that they won't let me in because of my undocumented status in the US. I've heard that they're asking people coming from us what status they had in the us. In that case, what should we as DACA recipients say?

Moving to Canada with DACA is extremely complicated. Consult with an attorney.

Like any border service agency, CBSA will ask what is your reasoning for visiting Canada. In addition, under NAFTA, they actually have access to records here in the US.

Like the aforementioned response mentioned, it is best to forward your question to a qualified licensed attorney preferably from Canada.

In your subject you're talking about getting AP but asking about advice on "moving to Canada." Sorry not sure where you're getting at. The two are completely different things. If you're going to get AP you obviously have to think that after you get AP you would have to get a visa to enter Canada, so that's another story. I personally think you stand a good chance to get a visa if you have AP from here. About moving there, I'm not really sure myself.

hey, like 2face says above after getting you ap you need to get some sort of visa to enter canada. I have done it several times but i had applied for permanent residency in canada before DACA. I did my landing once i got my AP (timing was just right). Since then i have been back and forth between canada and us under multiple occasions. As i am a pr for canada i have the ability to work there as well and did so for 1 year before coming back to the us.

When i went to canada for landing (my first time) i was not asked about my status in the US but that maybe bc i had my PR approved. However when i returned from canada by car ( specifying this bc i dont recall being asked by any of the customs officer regarding my work status in canada when i fly back and forth even when i lived there) after living there for A year, i was asked about my status in Canada and why i was able to work there. I simply showed my PR card and that was the end of it.
