Paul Ryan said something like they would allow "for the continuation" of EAD's so people would not be out of work while congress works something out. But that could mean anything from renewal to just allowing us the period our cards have now. Technically an EO that says they are not allowing for new applicants would be an "end" to the program, and those that applied could just be grandfathered and allowed to keep renewing until a permanent solution is passed, but that might be wishful thinking. A lot of us are expiring in a few months, so I hope that the plan trump mentioned that will "make us very happy" really is introduced in the time they said (two or three months). And if it is introduced, since it's trumps plan, hopefully he will be inclined to bully congress to pass it.

Well I just saw this on the news and came on here. This was what we expected. I knew he would let the EADs expire because it's too much time and money to cancel altogether. Well I guess I have one more year. You're lucky if you just got yours and have an extra 2 years. I wonder about those currently in process. They will prolly be processed and let to expire as well.

If it was going to be rescinded tomorrow, I just don't understand why haven't they just come out and say. All we are hearing is "sources" "sources" "sources" "people close to" but not a single words directly from the administration.

I was talking with my brother about this exact thing today, his theory is that trump doesn't want to set off any protests ahead of his inauguration so they are keeping it quiet. The last thing he wants is for thousands of DREAMers and immigration protesters showing up at his inauguration with signs about how heartless he is.
