So a little info I work two jobs to support my mother and my sister. I want to go back to school but I just don't have time with working too much . Can anyone suggest online schools that employers don't look down on. I would hate to waste money.

University of Illinois at Springfield

If you have the grades and test scores.

University of Illinois at UC

Springfield has very decent tuition. Some of their programs are more worth it than others.

I know CS is good and also business

Simple guidelines to follow:

Stick to Regionally Accredited schools. A good litmus test is that if they aren't the same board that evaluates the local universities STAY AWAY.

STAY AWAY from Regionally Accredited FOR-PROFIT schools. Some folks find success with them, I'm not knocking the students. But I took some "tester" classes with Kaplan University and they were a joke. I got 100's on EVERY assignment. I left. I now attend a regionally accredited private not-for-profit university where getting the mark takes some blood sweat and tears (my state doesn't have in-state tuition, so its the same cost to me).

DO CONSIDER programs at local colleges and universities that can be completed mostly online. Several colleges now offer programs that are mostly online (your degree won't say ONLINE).

FOR COST consider 2 years at a local community/ jr. college then transfer. The quality of education there is quite good. Mine was certainly much better than Kaplan University...

Fun Fact: Dr. Jill Biden taught at a community college while serving as SLOTUS. She could have easily taught at any name or state university in the same time period. Don't discount community colleges, they're America's best kept educational secret.

Most online schools are scams.

Refer to this list.

Fort Hayes state university is really affordable and its a state school.
Kennesaw state in georgia
utah state is also affordable. just google and make sure its accredited, I would lean more towards state schools. another thing to also consider is CLEP, you can test out of a lot of general education classes and a lot of schools accept them. the tests cost $80
