I do the same! on top of a regular job, and school.

Its possible to make money even without EAD.

Extremely well done sir. It's hard to save money living in the city, especially in NYC. I'm also from NYC. My job is to design/manage/coordinate spaces, buildings, homes. I work with high-profile clients. Nothing to brag about, because I work hard and put in more hours compares to other people for mine and my family's future. Trying to retire by 45. I once only made 500 a week cash job doing similar things. You have potential to meet/connect with well established people in NYC. You only have to know one to get into that circle.

I agree with g33k, people can make money without EAD. Out of 100 clients maybe 2 asks for SSN, for tax purpose.

Someone mentioned, people struggle to pay 500 renewal fee. To come up with 20k? is just non sense. That's why I'm saying we are divided. Some can, some can't, some won't for good reasons.

Just like the US's cool system, people who makes more money should pay for who doesn't make as much as you. Because us Dreamers are group together, you are obligated to pay for them. Your thoughts? I've been here since 2004-ish and never have I ever read an ignorant post like yours.

was thinking on my drive home that the big announcement in 4 wks could be like a 20k fine. I was like, "yeah, I could swing that" on a low interest loan even. Never occurred to me to use it as a payment for the wall. It would make it way more palatable if they didn't phrase it like that though. Don't know if I'd feel ok w/it going to fund the fuking wall.

Basically, I'd rather the whole country chip in on a useless wall, rather than get ripped off on building a useless wall.

Let me spell it out for the few dense mindsets that are bickering by themselves in here.

No one is against a permanent solution. No one is against a potential path for all of us to get into a PR status.

What's naive is you guys coming up with these juvenile ideas thinking no one's ever thought of them, thinking it'll actually come to fruition. They've been going at it on this for over a decade, do you think they'll hear your 'brilliant' plan and go "oh my god, why didn't we ever think of that? Collect appropriation worthy fees, of course!"

If they wanted or were willing to grant us relief for 20k, they would've done this back in 2002. Do you want my idea? Bridge act leading up to some sort of permanent reform. Far fetched? yes. Is it pretty much the only realistic option? Yes.

Honestly if it comes down to absolute choice between relief for Dreamers, or no one period, I'd go with the first. You can always sponsor your families. That's just my view and everyone's entitled to their own, but last we checked this is dap, not everyone-portal.
