What's naive is you guys coming up with these juvenile ideas thinking no one's ever thought of them, thinking it'll actually come to fruition. They've been going at it on this for over a decade, do you think they'll hear your 'brilliant' plan and go "oh my god, why didn't we ever think of that? Collect appropriation worthy fees, of course!"

If they wanted or were willing to grant us relief for 20k, they would've done this back in 2002. Do you want my idea? Bridge act leading up to some sort of permanent reform. Far fetched? yes. Is it pretty much the only realistic option? Yes.
If i could up vote your post, I would. Juvenile is right. Youth is truly wasted on the young.

I would be okay with that but I honestly don't think the hardliners care about the wall. They just want us out cause we intimidate them and they think we are taking their jobs/land/resources. (When in fact we are doing the opposite- we are creating jobs and wealth)

The one thing white supremacists are terrified of is the day whites lose the majority.

That's what I see in the Numberusa website.

Look guys, I don't care who came up with this idea but I thought about it way back when I was still in High School. I had my debates and I always said that the Undocumented should pay 25,000 as a fine for coming in illegally. That would be Billions in dollars (even if not all 11 million people could afford it). Furthermore, extreme betting should be used along with criminal record checks and ban from obtaining welfare until Citizenship is attained. I actually wrote a 7 page memorandum on this.

Honestly, I don't understand why a lot of undocumented people feel like they are entitled to everything this country has to offer. You can argue the fact that we aren't rapists, that we contribute to this country, and all the other reasons which are true. HOWEVER, One thing won't change...we CAME IN ILLEGALLY! When will people understand that? Yes, perhaps your parents brought you in and it wasn't your fault or what not but that DOESN'T change the law..

I look at the Latin media and and they tell the Undocumented that they need to fight for their rights and that the U.S should allow them to stay..really why? What are we offering this country for violating the laws? Perhaps our work ethic, and low pay, or taking jobs that others don't want. Undocumented people need to understand that at least we have jobs here and if you feel that you aren't achieving anything here then why don't you go back to your country of origin?

What is the cost for crossing the border this days..people paid more than 10,000 to coyotes to cross over but they wouldn't want to pay 25,000? If you aren't willing to pay for a speeding ticket after you violated a law, you should get out. This is the same rhetoric, stop being prideful and give something to the Republicans that they are able to work with. To all those who say it is stupid, give a better proposition because the status quo is not working. That is the reason why a Comprehensive Immigration reform has not happened, we aren't willing to humble and just give something up.

^First off, I came legally, and so have many others. Not everyone is EWI. You're already off to a shitty start with an assumption.

Second, it's not like they asked for this and we denied the opportunity, honestly if they're willing to give us status and forgive unlawful presence for $, who wouldn't?

The point is most of us know better than trying to bribe our way into it because they're going to say no anyways. If at some point they do offer this as a way out, I would gladly oblige and say I didn't see it coming, but until meantime, please stop pretending that this is the greatest idea ever that we have yet to push for.
