I knew this was going to happen and I also had a feeling he knew as well, he just signed it just to say he signed it and fulfilled his campaign promises and the courts stood in his way. He knew that part of it was unconstitutional and knew a Judge would block it.

I believe it only applies to the ones who set foot in the US while he signed the EO.

Yeah, from reading further into it seems that the stay on his action only bars the removal (deportation) of people with valid visas who were already in transit.

He didn't rule anything on the constitutionality of the order nor did he say that they should be let in (simply not removed).

Epic legal battle to ensue. Should be fun.

This is the United States, a country with a functional and deliberate system of checks and balances. What the executive order highlights is that the team of the President is not well-versed in writing law or they would have done their due diligence by citing past cases on what may hold up in a court of law. The danger however is that we have a President who is ill-advised by his team in some form. There are more executive actions coming in the coming days, but like I said, an active judicial system and potent Senate minority will ensure that the over-reach is not excessive. Trust in the system!
