I would say wait for a week to see how things go if everything works fine then you should travel.
Enjoy safe trip!

Your best bet is to go now, stop waiting around. ATM Trumps' admin said that they will come up with a decision about DACA in roughly another 2-3 weeks. You still have time to quickly leave and come back to clear your EWI. The only uncertainty is that he might cancel DACA while you're there, so stay for literally 1 day and come back.

What if you decide to wait a little and after 2 weeks he cancels DACA altogether? Stop waiting and start making moves dude.

Good luck with your decision.

But I thought they asked you the specific dates. Wouldn't that create problems? For example, OP applied in 2016. If he asked to travel from January 5 to January 15, but they didn't approve his app until now (February), what happens? And does he have to wait until approval to buy his plane ticket?

Yes but you have to request it with USCIS. They will mail you a multiple entry AP if you present evidence and explicitly ask for permission for multiple entries. It will also say it on the document.

You cant use a single purpose AP for multiple entries

It's normal. Supposedly one copy you give to customs and one you keep. But it's reported that they take both.

Also, you must have both copies when coming back.

Make sure to travel with both copies. Also CBP needs both when re-entering, it is up to them whether you get a stamped copy back.

My cousin made the dumb mistake of traveling with one thinking the other was extra. She had to get someone to go to the airport and drop off the second copy, CBP was not admitting her without both.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the general reason for AP travel? I'm currently waiting on AP approval But I would go ASAP, if you're trying to clear an EWI, go for like one day and make your way back quickly. If it were me I would not risk more than one day. Keep us updated! And good luck!
