Like GTFO here brah, I pay my taxes and bills myself I will do whatever the fuck I please.
I am 19 years old and I come from one of the most poorest countries. But, bro, even as a young dreamer, I understand and accept that there is going to little change to fix our situation in the next coming years.

Nice to have young dreamers like you. I've been following this whole immigration mess since I was 12. I'm 28 now. I actually feel like there is a very STRONG chance of LEGISLATION passing under Trump. Just wait and watch. For CIR, Trump is clearly hands down the better president than Hillary would have been. If she was elected, DACA would have been kept alive for sure for sure but there would have never been CIR under her watch. This man is a little different. He takes no prisoners. He is going to hold his own party accountable. Just look at Ryan. That dude is dancing to his tunes.

Honestly, if this was even 5 years ago, I would be making plans to leave immediately. But, I'm older and know that going back to Jamaica without a degree , any familial or financial support is a fool's errand.

I've told myself that for as long as DACA is alive, I will ride it out. I have 2 years left in school and will just keep my head down until then. My family is lucky in the respect that I have a USC sibling that turns 21 in less than 3 years. He can petition for my mother and I hope that I will figure out my own situation by that time.

Other families are not that lucky. We have members here who are married to other DACA beneficiaries or cannot clear their EWI because of the country they originate from.

Bottom line is despite our differences in opinion, we really only have each other. So, I hope to see less bickering and needless arguing about who is right and who is wrong. If the yam ends DACA tomorrow, we're all equally screwed.
Some of these "Dreamers" are way too young to really understand the world out there. They haven't live the undocumented life for many years. They are either too pessimistic or too optimistic. They might not deserve the name Dreamer. They need to suffer for it

dawg, i just said ill be the first to self-deport if DACA gets axed. i accepted it after election day that if it gets axed i will use the remaining years on my EAD. im sure other countries would want me based on work experience and credentials alone. i aint afraid of nothing or change, i can move the fuck on anytime. i have no family here, i already experienced all of them being deported. i understand the people here who are scared of the raids because of their families... i get that. ive been through it all my man.

the concept of DREAMER's was built on hope.

I don't even know if I can blame it on age. The polarization in attitudes are cutting both ways with old DREAMers and new folks here.

There are people here that expire in the next couple of weeks and they are petrified. I can understand why other people like me are cautious and do not trust the orange man and his administration.

I am still wrapping my head around the optimism, but I respect that point of view. Either way we need to be civil to one another regardless of how we feel.
