Honestly, if this was even 5 years ago, I would be making plans to leave immediately. But, I'm older and know that going back to Jamaica without a degree , any familial or financial support is a fool's errand.

I've told myself that for as long as DACA is alive, I will ride it out. I have 2 years left in school and will just keep my head down until then. My family is lucky in the respect that I have a USC sibling that turns 21 in less than 3 years. He can petition for my mother and I hope that I will figure out my own situation by that time.

Other families are not that lucky. We have members here who are married to other DACA beneficiaries or cannot clear their EWI because of the country they originate from.

Bottom line is despite our differences in opinion, we really only have each other. So, I hope to see less bickering and needless arguing about who is right and who is wrong. If the yam ends DACA tomorrow, we're all equally screwed.

I actually feel like there is a very STRONG chance of LEGISLATION passing under Trump. Just wait and watch. For CIR, Trump is clearly hands down the better president than Hillary would have been. If she was elected, DACA would have been kept alive for sure for sure but there would have never been CIR under her watch. This man is a little different. He takes no prisoners. He is going to hold his own party accountable. Just look at Ryan. That dude is dancing to his tunes.
