Biometrics appointment after EAD expired

Hey fellow dreamers,

So im one of the few that took forever to get my biometrics appointment. I applied on June 1st 2016 for renewal and I barely got my biometrics scheduled for 2/28/17. My EAD expired in October so I'm curious to know is it safe for me to go into a USCIS service center with an expired EAD? Can I be detained since I don't have status at the moment? I will have to use my passport since state ID expired.

If more experienced dreamers can advise on this situation I would greatly appreciate it.

Wow. Why so late for bio?

I wish I knew, sent e requests all they could say my case was pending till I finally received my bio 8 months later.

That is insane.

It's my opinion service centers are safe, USCIS is not ICE.

And I thought my biometrics appointment took long. My appointment took 4 months. This is crazy.

Don't worry. Application support centers are safe. You can use your passport or even your expired EAD. I used my expired EAD during my last renewal.
